ICEI life

The truth is that I really like my career (Cine y TV) and the classes I have had. However, if I had to make some suggestions I would do the following. To begin with, I think there are two extremely important classes, which are only taught in the third and fourth years of the career: direction of actors and production. I think that should be taught during the second semester of the first year. Regarding the workload and length of studies, I think that I can organize my time quite well to have free time and fulfill my university responsibilities, but I would like the career to be shorter. I think that with four years is enough to learn the most important in terms of theory and technique, the rest is only practical:) The university facilities could clearly improve, but I think what I would like the most is that there were resources to maintain, fix or buy new equipment to Pañol. The equipment is usually quite old and this directly affects the shooting times and the quality of the resu...

2046

I don't usually think too much about the distant future, I prefer to think about the future closer to the present. I think that what I would most like to experience in the future is the destruction of capitalism. I really believe that the current system cannot last forever. In the hopefully near future, I would love to live in a communist society, or at least advance in the construction of this while I'm still alive. If I had to choose a specific year to travel, I think it would be 2046. I would choose it because 2046 is the title of a movie that I really like  <3.  I hope that the social differences between the present and 2046 are more profound than what is seen in the movie. I'm a little afraid of technological advances and climate change but the big change that I would like to see is the change of the system. In 2046 I will be 47 years old. I hope that by that time there is really a feminist education, free and of quality. I also hope that the state can guaran...

Filmmaker

When I was in my first year of cinema in ICEI, I didn't know much about positions on a filmmaking team or how to make films. Now that I know more about world cinema and that I have especially loved the constant doing (think ideas, record, edit, share knowledge, etc), I have more hope of being able to work on what I like, because now I like many more things. The first thing that I know is that I like to work and create with more people, to complement ideas and support each other. Another thing that I love is the filming moment, I would love to work often on filming. My favorite positions are direction and montage, therefore, I also imagine myself in a constant creation and with solo work from time to time. I even imagine myself being for hours in the darkness of an office, but doing something that I love: editing movies. I think everything I said is not separate from my greatest commitment to cinema, and what I think is the most important objective: to reach people. That is why I wo...

Jasper

I remember that in 2008, the vampire movie Twilight , caused a big sensation in Chile. Mi aunt Carolina inserted the film into my family. The result: the following year, with my two cousins, we saw the movie almost 20 times on Christmas weekend.  In this context of this family fanaticism, Carolina decided that she wanted to be a mother, but first, she wanted to "practice" with a puppy that she named Edward, like the character. She lasted two weeks with the very expensive dog that she bought. After getting bored with the responsibility of taking care of the puppy, she asked my mom to take care of him from time to time. I fell in love with him and after a few times that he came to my house, he never left. My aunt ended up giving him to me and abandoning the idea of motherhood. Edward was a strange dog, he was very unpredictable, too small, blond and a little ugly. He wasn't like Edward from Twilight, I felt him more like Jasper, the most rare character. That is how his name...

RBD Rebelde

When I was a child, my biggest fashion references were my two oldest cousins. They are eight and nine years older than me, an age difference that doesn't seem like much today, but when I was in kinder garden, that difference was evident. I lived my childhood between these two pre-teens and clearly, they strongly influenced my tastes in music, on television and in clothes (I inherited all of theirs) and that sometimes looked a little strange in a little girl. This is how I became a huge fan of RBD from the age of five. I remember doing a self-portrait in kinder garden and drawing myself with Roberta's red shades. I definitely wanted to be like her, I sometimes even asked my cousin if she could delineate me "inside the eye". The three of us grew up with all the drama of this Mexican youth television series. We had the CD's and the recordings of the concerts, we knew almost all the songs and we even did choreographies that we performed a couple of times in front of o...

Summer loves

When I was nineteen, I went to Uruguay for two weeks with my best friend, Emilia.  We arrived in Montevideo on a Sunday, it was raining and there were hardly any people on the street. It was very hot and there was a lot of humidity even in the sheets of the hostel beds. After the first awkward day, things started to get really incredible.  The following night we went to the first of many comparsas that we found on the street, so we realized that we were close to the carnival and we started to follow those activities. After Montevideo, our beach life began. Our tour of the coast started at a place called Punta del Diablo. In that place we stayed in a hostel where worked only men without a shirt. Our salvation: the cool girls we met. We became close friends whit some of the girls who stayed at the hostel and with some we continued our trip along the coast, through Barra de Valizas, Cabo Polonio, La Pedrera and Colonia del Sacramento. The girls were mainly from Argentin...

I want to go to Greece

Imagen
During my childhood I watched Hércules about three hundred times. After wanting to be strong like Hércules and falling in love with Megara, I started to become a little obsessed with the stories of mytologhy and Greek gods. I completely discarded the belief in a catholic god and began to dream of seeing the Greek gods above the clouds.  When I was eleven years old, my dad gave me the book The Lightning Thief . I read the book in a record time and ended up with a clear idea: I wanted to see the Olympus. Who knows if maybe I was the lost daughter of Zeus. Nowadays I don't know much more about Greece. I only want to climb the Olympus to close a funny phase of my childhood. I know that Greece is far and expensive, but I would really like to go one day with my dad on vacations to walk with him down the streets of Athens and remember the stories of a time when everything could be sacred.
